Day of Mindfulness in Memphis
June 17 @ 9:00 am - 4:30 pm
In today’s fast paced culture, the average person is bombarded by personal, social, financial and/or familial challenges. Fatigued physically and mentally, we often take refuge in unwholesome or self destructive habits which do not lead to the happiness and peace sought for.
There is a way to that happiness and peace, mindfulness. Mindfulness involves returning to the present moment. Taking refuge in mindfulness and mindful living, healing and transformation can take place.
The monks and nuns of Magnolia Grove Monastery are excited to present a Day of Mindfulness to the Memphis community “Refreshing Body and Mind”. We will share mindfulness practices to improve, strengthen and give clarity to the body/mind connection. We will engage in simple and practical activities, such as mindful breathing, eating and walking. These practices, although simple and easy to learn, are in essence meditation in action and will have far reaching positive results on your health and well being.
We at Magnolia Grove Monastery seek to cultivate tolerance, kindness, compassion, generosity and wisdom in turn creating a more peaceful and mindful world. We welcome everyone, regardless of religion, ethnicity, or lifestyle.
