Health Care Professionals & Caregivers Retreat – “Caring for Me, Caring for You”
September 3 @ 8:00 am - September 6 @ 5:00 pm
One in four of us are caring for another, in a professional setting or a familiar one. Often our resources for mindfulness become lost among the many demands of our work. This retreat offers a time of reflection, nourishment and strengthening of our abilities to care for others as we care for ourselves. Through the practice of mindfulness we will explore looking deeply and restoring ourselves, so that we may continue with ease and stability in our everyday lives, as we continue caring for others.
The Brothers and Sisters would like to invite all of you to return to the world of peaceful present moment.
We will use the practices of mindfulness to touch the miracles of life in the midst of the mundane. The retreat includes daily teachings on mindfulness and sessions of walking meditation, sitting meditation and eating meditation (we will provide vegan meals). We will also have the chance to strengthen our capacities for deep listening and loving speech through the practices of Deep Relaxation, Touchings of the Earth, Beginning Anew, and Dharma sharing.
This is an opportunity to come together as a spiritual family and cultivate togetherness. Also, to refresh our relationships with not only our families, but also our relationship with Mother Earth and our ancestors. It is a wonderful retreat for those new to mindfulness practice in the Plum Village tradition, as well as for anyone interested in mindful community life. We welcome the participation of people from all backgrounds. We are committed to fostering a practice environment where all may touch the Dharma and find healing and nourishment.
