Registration open: Wake Up special weekend

OUR JOY AND SUFFERING ARE ONE As young adults living in the midst of a global pandemic, climate crisis and ongoing injustice, it can feel like the amount of suffering in ourselves and the world is overwhelming. And at the same time, there is a growing commitment to taking care of the natural world, creating inclusive communities and healing of all sorts. How do we make sense of this collective moment we find ourselves in?

Join us for a Wake Up Special Weekend (welcome to all practitioners ages 18-35ish) exploring how the teachings of mindfulness and Engaged Buddhism can offer us tangible practices to hold both our joy and suffering in order to live a life of compassionate action and connection. Our time together will focus on building beloved community through the practices of Dharma sharing, sitting meditation, walking meditation, spending time in nature, enjoying vegan meals together and other activities. This weekend retreat is open to young adults who are also new to mindfulness practice. We hope to offer affinity groups for friends who identify as LGBTQ+ and BIPOC depending on levels of interest. Check-in is from 3-5PM CST on Friday, July 01st and the weekend will conclude by 3PM on Sunday, July 03rd.
