12-Step Retreat: Empowering our Spirituality
Join our 12-Step Meditation Retreat from
Wednesday, May 6 – Sunday, May 10, 2026!
Dear Friends,
We warmly invite you to a nourishing 12-Step Retreat with the theme: Empowering Our Spirituality which will be held at Magnolia Grove Monastery: a peaceful meditation practice center, surrounded by natural beauty and quiet. Through shared silence, gentle structure from monastics and mindful presence, participants are invited to cultivate awareness, compassion, and a deeper connection to their spiritual path. This retreat is offered as a sacred pause—a time to step away from daily demands and return to what truly supports recovery, clarity, and inner connection.
Together, we will practice meditation in a serene and supportive environment, allowing space for stillness, reflection, and openness to a deeper power as each person understands it.
This retreat is open to those who are actively in the process of recovery, as well as to those who
have found clarity and stability but continue to seek support, deepening, and companionship on the Path. Whether you are navigating challenges or strengthening an established foundation, you are welcome here.
This retreat offers the gift of connection: connection to meditation practice, to spiritual guidance, and to fellow friends who understand the importance of support, honesty, and kindness on the 12-Step Path. It is an opportunity to be held by community, strengthened by practice, and gently be
reminded that you do not walk this path alone.

If you are facing financial difficulty and truly aspire to participate in this 12-Step Retreat, please don’t hesitate to write to us at office@magnoliagrovemonastery.org. We will do our best to find a way!
Please be advised that all our activities are communal and that is our greatest strength when we come together. This reminds us that we are not alone in our path of recovery, healing, and growth. While it may be awkward or strange at times, we strongly recommend attending all activities. Struggling alone is something we do enough of already so let us ride the momentum of the collective as geese migrating in their V-formations.
All meals are vegan and communal. Rice, vegetables and fresh fruit are available every day, regularly supplemented by tofu, other soy products, or beans.
Please be advised that we have very modest facilities and cannot cater to special dietary needs. There are no facilities for you to store or prepare your own food. Please contact the office if you have any concerns about food.
We are doing our best to create easier access for people with physical limitations. We have some wheelchair-accessible toilets and showers in our main toilet block. We also have an all-gender restroom area in the main toilet block.
Please note that attending a retreat is a great opportunity to: disconnect from electronic devices; deepen our practice of mindfulness; to be present for each other; and to enjoy the many wonders all around us. As the monastery is a practice environment, we encourage you to greatly limit your use of cell phones and other electronic devices during your stay in order to preserve the collective energy of mindfulness.
Please let your family and friends know in advance that you will have very limited access to the Internet during this time. Please note that cell service on our property is extremely weak.
We ask that you do not plan to bring work or other pressing commitments to the monastery during this time. Your stay with us is a unique opportunity to let go of your work commitments, to deepen your practice, to look inwards, and heal.
*Cancellation more than 3 days before the retreat – a cancellation fee of $50.00 will be charged.
*Cancellation less than 3 days before, including during the retreat (e.g., a retreatant decides to end their retreat early) – 100% of the full fee will be retained by us.
