Thanksgiving Celebration 2026

“As long as you still have gratitude, you still have happiness,” Zen Master Thich Nhat Hanh
Dear Friends,

In our everyday life, we are often taught to count our blessings and give thanks. In America, we designate a holiday, Thanksgiving, to give thanks. But have you heard of the Four Gratitudes? It consists of:

Gratitude for our Parents,

Gratitude for our Teachers,

Gratitude for our Friends,

and

Gratitude for All Living Beings.

This is a practice we often contemplate in our monastery everyday, gratitude for the food we receive, for the shelter we have, especially for the Dharma to practice and for our cherished Dharma friends.

We would like to express our deepest gratitude for you, our loving supporters, for it is thanks to you that Magnolia Grove Monastery is able to blossom into what you see today.

To honor our gratitude for all living beings, for all our friendships, our life and for all the life gifts we’ve received, especially from our parents and teachers, we invite you to join us for a Thanksgiving Celebration, from Wednesday, November 25th—Friday, November 27th.

*Please note that we will only have one Arrival Day this week, on Wednesday November 25th, in lieu of our regular Friday Arrival Days.

A sample of our Thanksgiving Celebration program for Thursday, November 26th is as follows:

5:30 am Sitting Meditation

7:30 am Breakfast

9:00 am Dharma Talk

10:30 am Walking Meditation, followed by a Gratitude Ceremony

12:00 pm Special Lunch with the 5 Contemplations

(This is our program last year, it may be similar and is also subject to a few minor changes closer to the date.)

After clicking the Register button, please choose: Personal Retreat, then click on 11/25th.
If you would like to stay for a longer weekend, instead of leaving on Friday, you are also welcome to extend your stay until Sunday. Please contact our registrar: office@magnoliagrovemonastery.org
