Resources to help Sanghas honor Thay on second anniversary of his transformation

This month, the International Plum Village Community will formally bring its two-year mourning period for dear Thay to a close as our beloved teacher becomes an ancestor in both the Từ Hiếu Temple and Plum Village lineages.

Ceremonies are planned in Plum Village Monastery in France on Sunday, January 21, and at Thay’s root temple in Hue, Vietnam on Monday, January 29. Livestream and video replay details may be found on this website (please note some information is still being finalized).

Additionally, our community is offering book suggestions from Parallax Press, a link to a special issue of The Mindfulness Bell, and a ceremony template kindly offered by lay Dharma teacher Jack Lawlor for local Sanghas to consider using/modifying to honor Thay on the second anniversary of his transformation.

However you choose to honor Thay during this important moment in our community’s history–whether by simply lighting a candle, following the ceremonies from France and Vietnam, or helping to organize an event with your local Sangha–we are grateful to know that you are there as Thay’s manifold continuation.
