How To Live When A Loved One Dies:

May 4, 2022 @ 3:00 pm - May 8, 2022 @ 3:00 pm

A retreat on transforming grief and loss

How do we deal with the intense grief and suffering we feel when we lose someone we love? How can we navigate the storms following separation or the death of a loved one? The pain that comes with loss is a natural and deeply human experience. In times of grief, we are often overwhelmed by feelings of despair. How can we find the way to touch peace and happiness again?

In this five-day retreat we will practice coming back to ourselves and calming our strong emotions. We will investigate our deep-seated beliefs about happiness and suffering, and birth and death. Often it is these very beliefs that are the obstacle to our happiness. When we know how to come back to the present moment, to take care of our strong emotions, we can touch peace and find relief. When we gain more insight into the true nature of birth and death, our grief begins to transform.

Who is this retreat for?

This retreat is for anyone who has experienced the pain of loss or is facing loss in their lives. We may be grieving the death of a loved one, or may be undergoing a separation, serious illness or other major life challenge. When we come together to share our stories, to listen, to smile, to laugh or cry, healing takes place. The insights we gain from others who have experienced deep grief and loss help us regain confidence and hope, and can help us touch peace and joy again. We know that we are not alone. The connection and support we feel helps us heal and transform.

What will we be doing?

The practice of mindfulness is the foundation for our peace and happiness. Together we will practice sitting and walking meditation, enjoy the silence and nourishment of mindful meals, listen to Dharma talks and presentations, take part in sharing circles (Dharma sharing) and much more. No prior experience with meditation is required.

There will be an opportunity for individual or group consultations depending on demand and available resources.
